Käytän tällä omalla sivustollani englanninkielistä WordPressiä, mikä näemmä aiheuttaa ”ongelmia” suomenkielisen WordPressin pitämisessä ajan tasalla. Käytän kyllä suomenkielistä versiotakin ja nyt tuli taas aikaa päivittää se.

Tämä ohjelmaversio on julkaistu 10.3. eli jo kaksi kuukautta sitten. Uusi versio sisältää jälleen kerran tietoturvaan liittyviä parannuksia ja korjauksia, joten päivitys kannattaa.

Päivitys versiosta 2.0.1 onnistuu helposti kopioimalla uuden version tiedostot suoraan vanhan version tiedostojen päälle. Vanhempien versioiden päivitys kannattaa tehdä pitkän kaavan mukaan.

I’ve switched to reading feeds with Gregarius because I grew tired of tweaking my old reader, unfortunately code that apparently is no longer developed. Gregarius has more bells and whistles than I’ve had time to look into, and I had to change my reading habits a bit, but not too drastically. Installation was a breeze and I could move all my feeds with a couple of clicks using an OPML file. Gregarius is also themable and pluggable, which is always a guarantee for hours of fun adjusting the behaviour to your liking. (more…)

The days are getting longer in leaps again. It can be unbelievably bright with the reflecting snow doubling up the sunshine. I just had to jump out for a quick walk with the camera when I saw the frosty trees through the window.

It wasn’t quite as sunny in Nuuksio on this Friday, but that didn’t stop us from having a nice walk in the woods and across the ponds. Some of the pictures turned out quite fine.

Thankfully it is too late now for this spring, but I might actually consider getting skis for next winter. Unless I get my head checked and snap out of it… I definitely mean just cross-country skiing, I’m not completely out of my mind yet. :-)

In addition to the new pictures, there’s also an RSS feed for the photo album. I don’t always write in the blog when I add pictures, but the feed will automatically pick them up.

Your browser’s language settings no longer alter the content on my pages. I haven’t had enough time to complete the language selection feature so that it would cover all aspects of the site (e.g. feeds and search results), and it would take a non-trivial amount of time to actually do that.

I’ve also received a couple of comments on the article filtering that indicate it is not really needed or maybe not even wanted. I don’t write so much that it would be difficult to skip some of the content. Having to reconfigure your browser is also just another hurdle, if you happened to want to see all articles.

So for the one or two people who might feel uncomfortable with the notes in Finnish, sorry. :-P
